Samuel Makanda is an infectious Louisville artist with a mission to inspire and uplift the people with his newest single Darling. Samuel has loved music since a young child, singing and dancing often with influences such as James Brown and music the great pop artists of the 80’s, 90s and early 2000s.

With his release ‘Darling’ – his introductory single from his album Character Assassination, Samuel aimed to recreate the sounds of the 80s,90s, and early 2000s to develop his own sound of music, one that makes you feel like you’re dancing and floating off into an everlasting paradise.

“My song “Darling…” is about being thankful for life. Being thankful for all the things you cherish in life. This song makes me want to dance and groove all my emotions into happiness and freedom. Music nowadays doesn’t feel inspired; it feels forced. I wanted to create a song that takes it back to rhythm, soul, dance and feeling.” -Samuel Makanda

Darling was originally released as a demo titled “(Take 1) Darling…” in 2019. But after feeling unsatisfied with the sound of it, Samuel began reconstructing the track the help from his producer, Ricky Alfian in Indonesia. Samuels smooth vocals take this captivating track to the next level – drawing us into the rhythmic fusion of Afro-beats, Neo-Soul, Pop, and R&B.
